Listen to Juju's jewelry tips.

When we say 'men's jewelry', we mean all the accessories that you add to your outfit: Bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings.

Do you have to wear all of the above at the same time? Probably not. At least not at first. But with time and with the right amount of confidence, you will be able to wear what you want, the way you want it. The key to using jewelry is to be casual about it.

Bracelets

It is quite easy to overdo it with bracelets as they are small and it can be tempting to wear multiple at once. One of the things you should pay attention to when wearing a bracelet is the wristwatch you will wear that day.  After all, your hands are a pair, so they will be seen in conjunction with each other, including the accessories on them (this may sound obvious but people often forget!).

Rope or leather bracelets are usually best matched with casual and business casual wear. Wearing a combination of 2 or 3 of these more comfortable bracelets is the easy way to go, assuming the choice of color is harmonious. Metal bracelets fall on the more formal end of the spectrum. Wear one at a time and match it with your watch and other metal accessories you may be wearing.

Rings

Traditionally, when ‘man’ and ‘ring’ are used in the same sentence, people first think of a wedding ring. But rings can also serve style purposes, without going overboard with how many you wear. Considering the meanings associated with which finger the ring is worn on, we recommend wearing a maximum of 2 or 3 rings. Design-wise, they are less bulky and better. Most rings come in metal. If you wear your other accessories for a sporty look, they key is to match them with your other metal accessories like necklaces.

Necklaces

Like any other accessory, a necklace should put a subtle emphasis on your personality and highlight your overall outfit, though it will oftentimes be out of sight, behind your shirt. Wearing more than two necklaces at a time may be bit much. Always think of the rest of your outfit when choosing a necklace. If you are getting ready for work, you might want to leave your more sporty-looking necklaces at home. Metal necklaces, on the other hand, can be more formal and perhaps more appropriate for the occasion.

Earrings

Earrings are arguably one of the hardest pieces of jewelry for a man to pull off, especially at work. That's why it is better to tread lightly when it comes to earrings. Earrings can easily become the center of attention on your face. With that in mind, it is safe to say that the thinner the better. If you are in a more professional setting, be sure to check your employee handbook for the dress code on wearing earrings in the office.
